Sequoia National Park was established in 1890. It is California's first National Park and is America's second oldest park. The southern entrance to Sequoia National Park is about an hour's drive from Porterville on Highway 198.
Kings Canyon National Park was established in 1940. Both parks border each other and offer camping, hiking, fishing, photography, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, and snowshoe walks.
